I blog about what’s going on in my life. As a result it probably makes sense I wrote an article this month for BlogCritics about evaluations at work. I’m being evaluated Friday. Not the thrill of my week but everybody with a job has to go through it in one way or another.

It’s not about eliminating the butterflies in your stomach but rather getting the butterflies to fly in formation.

If you are interested in my article on this topic, you can read it at the url below. I hope it helps someone out. There’s a lot of living and learning in the post:

Thanks so much Amy.  After 9 years of doing these, you’d think I’d have stopped being nervous but it’s still there.  I appreciate your pat on the back.  Have a great day.

Performance appraisals are one trait of bad management. You find them stressful etc. for good reason – so do many people. And very few people actually think they are useful. When you have to go through them then doing your best to limit their harm is good. But those in the position should go for performance without evaluation.

John, this may sound like a line but I really am going to check out your post when I get some spare time.  I have flagged it.  Thanks for your astute comment and innovative ideas.
