As a teacher of English I once had to do an internship at a community college. I worked in the writing center helping entry level freshmen revise their papers. I was excited to do it at first but quickly became fatigued correcting the same errors over and over. Mostly these were issues of multiple meaning words and misspellings. Other times they were grammatical in nature. That was in 1996 and I solved the problem by creating worksheets on various grammar problems. The idea of that was not to have to repeat myself over and over. Instead, I would just give them a handout. It worked well but there would be little use for it now in the advent of the internet. Grammar can be confusing. This site takes away the frustration. Whether you are a student or other brand of writer, this site can work wonders for you. If you are in any way unsure of your writing’s sophistication or correctness, try an online checker like this one. It may save you embarrassment but for sure it will save you revision time.
We are working with my 4th grader on his grammar, still hand written no easy cut and paste at this point but I will check out the site and see if it points out the mistakes his teacher finds so it can help him proof his work better.
