Jim Carrey’s new movie “Yes Man” brings up a good question: “Are YOU a Yes Man?” Before you answer, know that a yes man defined is a guy who just can’t say no. Jim Carrey gets a sort of hex put on him at a seminar but many guys out there have this affliction on their own.
I think being a yes man can be a bad thing. We need boundaries … we need to say no sometimes.
An example from my life is when people at work ask me for help. I said yes all the time for 6 years. Then, recently actually, I realized a lot of the same people were asking me for help with the same things and my helping them every time was just perpetuating their helplessness.
