We’ve all heard car alarms going off when no one attends to them. It can be quite annoying. When my car alarm goes off, I always dart right out to turn it off. It’s a car accessory that can really embarrass a person. In this case, it appears the car owner was content to leave it alone or he was in ignorant bliss.

I read this today through Stumbleupon and it gave me a hearty chuckle. If this is true there is truth in it! Well, even if it isn’t true it’s fun.
From the blog Uncommon Sense : “As far as heinous crimes go, it’s hard to really top genocide. Adolph Hitler, Idi Amin, Pol Pot: these guys all tried to single-handedly wipe out entire ethnic groups sometime in the past century, and the history books have already not been kind to them. But at least all these horrible men never succeeded in actually wiping the group they wanted to from the face of the Earth. But there is one monster who targeted a group that was different from their kind and managed to completely eradicate them from the globe. And this barbaric creature went by the terror-inducing name of ‘Tibbles.’ ”

Awesome Chalk Illustration – And a Life Thought

When I talk on my psychology blog about my mantra or mission statement to: “create and innovate value,” this sort of invention is an example from an artist’s life. We can (metaphorically) make plain stick figures or awesome chalk illustrations of our lives. Dont listen to the people who tell you to stay within the lines. There may be some jealousy issues there. As for YOU, remember what Mark Twain said:
“Throw off the bowlines. Sail away from the safe harbor. Catch the trade winds in your sails. Explore. Dream. Discover.”
When I look into this sidewalk chalk painting I think: “I can go deeper.”

Where is Amy Winehouse's Father?

Everyone has been telling me since my kids were born that one day they would rebel. Looking at some “then/now” pictures of Amy Winehouse on a blog tonight really made that fear a reality. Click on the image above to see the “after” pictures.
Here is a hugely talented girl with the world as her oyster who in just a few short years has destroyed her voice, body, and mind with drugs. Can she recover? I sure hope so. I enjoyed her music in the early days of her career. She may or may not pull out of the mess she’s fallen into, but I am more concerned with the lesson for dads out there:
Don’t let your kids do drugs.
Another thing people have told me forever is that kids will not listen to me and they will do what they want no matter what they say. Like I told my wife tonight: “By the time my girls are in college, I’ll be close to retiring so I can follow them everywhere.”
Poor Amy has made rehab her “hit,” I hope she gets beyond rehab to reality before too long. I read that Kelly Osbourne recently for rearranging her “evil” furniture. She moved chairs, sofas, and kitchen rugs in a psuedo Feng Shui style. My thought is, “why did Kelly ley her stay in her house?” But I guess stuff like that happens with the overly wealthy. I just can’t help but wonder where her father is in all this. That’s not a judgment, just a wonder.
