I agree with Dragon Blogger on this one having done a hypnotherapy course, which was very enlightening on all these types of subjects and the problems caused in adulthood by repressed memories and mostly aligned to sexual experiences and not just abuse.

Aw, thanks for the kind post, Damien (and your convos over at Celebrity Psychings!). And you know, you're so right. Oftentimes people don't pay attention to these things (in this case, mental illness) until someone famous or well known has problems - then, suddenly, it's "interesting." Here's to hoping we can raise more awareness!

@Dragon Blogger: That's an interesting comment. Some would still argue these illnesses are there in the genes and therefore not affected by childhood experiences. It has been illustrated fairly clearly by science that mental illness in the family predicates it in later generations. Thanks for the comment.

There is a reason why artists (musicians, actors, celebrities...etc) are more prone to mental health issues. #1 creative brained people tend to have more of a tendency toward this type of thing, I think the reason is it takes a lot of a certain way of thinking, imagination, raw creativity, tapping into emotions, and most suffer a certain level of damage at the childhood level. This manifests such things as Bipolar, Emotional Disorders..etc. This is only made worse by the pressure of society studying your ever move and being pressured to live up to your "image".

Sensible people who don't have mental issues are the types who stay in shadows and often don't try to seek spot light, they don't go clubbing, partying, red carpet parading. It is the attention seekers and cravers who have that personality type in the first place one can find. Addiction to media coverage, means your capable of being addicted to just about any substance.
