contentment

I was thinking tonight about this word and what it really means. It is definitely the goal I strive for in my life. People all around me seem to be seeking riches, fame, property, material possessions . . . only some seem to share the same goal I have of contentment.

Contentment for me means (but not limited to):

Pleasure in going to work

Being 100% dedicated to my class when I am teaching and enjoying it

Thanking God when we have a meal to eat (we’re not poor but we don’t always have the means to eat fancy)

Hugging my kids and being thankful for them

When something doesn’t work out the way I want saying, “Oh well.”

Being content is often a task. Other times, it is a natural process. Practicing contentment is something I do. Mostly it is through having an “attitude of grattitude.” Good stuff follows. Are you content most of the time? Can being content ever be a bad thing?
