@sbpoet: Yeah, I think there are just as many if not more unbalanced filks online as there are irl. As far as the widgets go: I might recommend the WP-Cache plugin, showing less posts per page, as well as simply being a little more selective in the widgets you use. All this can speed up page loads immensely. Another thing to do is try your blog out on all the 3 major browsers. Usually there are some widgets that don't show on IE and then you can just remove those if you like. That means less widgets which means faster page loads.

Good grief!

Why are these people blogging to begin with? They seem to be missing the point.

I go through phases where I read a lot, or write a lot, or neither. When I'm reading blogs, the authors don't necessarily know it, as I use Bloglines & am apt to come in only to comment.

Or, of course, to see what design changes are happening...

I don't get offended if my readership declines, but I do pay attention. If it becomes a trend, I might sweat it a bit. But how would I know if some individual(s) weren't reading?

They use feed readers, too.

I have had complaints about slow loading, because I used to have lots of widgets. Reluctantly, I've cut back.

<!--%kramer-pre%-->is YOU. (oh and your family) That person who cut you off in traffic this morning…. let it go. The comment about what your wearing…. let it go. The invitation that you didn’t get… let it go. If someonedoesn’t comment on your blog… let it go. Just remember… it’s really up to you. If you want others to be gracious to you… be gracious to them. (oh I forgot, why would anyone need to be gracious to you?) *sarcasm intended*<!--%kramer-post%-->
