Psychiatrists’ role in your life, should you need to call on them, is to offer drugs to either increase your awareness or to dull it. Sometimes, these drugs are very successful. I have to say though my opinion is that many people entering their office could bring stasis to their mental state through solving their financial and/or credit nightmares.
If you are or someone you know is in a credit pickle, read on. Debt has built up on me since I was a teenager. I remember when I got my first credit card roaming the halls of my college campus in Fullerton California. The lady at the booth smiled, handed me a pre-approved “student card” credit app, and told me to fill out simply three items. When the $300 limit card came in the mailbox I had no idea the interest rate was 22% and the annual fee was $99. Would a prescription help pay it back? Likely not.
Lucky for me, I’ve had two landmark moments in my life since then when all my credit cards have been paid off. Once I did it on my own with a second college job, the other time I tried debt consolidation. I have to tell you that the latter was wonderful and I highly recommend it to you.
Speaking of education, maybe it’s because I’ve been a school teacher for ten years but I truly value companies that provide education to their clients. There is non profit education available through at least one debt consolidation company I know of. Most people are as I used to be, they don’t ask questions because they don’t know what they are in regards to credit.
For people new to credit or who have gotten in over their head, debt consolidation may be the seet relief you are looking for. Often, people raise their debt from the $300 I started with to 20-30 thousand dollars! Of course these cases are the extreme and yours may be somewhere in the middle. My point is, you needn’t suffer in desperate silence, there is a lot of help available. Why not keep the psychiatrist stuff for the chemical imbalances and go visit the credit repair company for the credit mess.

I definitely agree that when you know your finances are in order and don’t have the stress and worry of money on your mind, that life seems to be a lot easier and more fun!
I wonder if there are statistics about how many people who have psychological and other problems also have financial problems and also the correlation between getting financial problems resolved and the elimination of other “psychological” problems.

Yes. I think, actually I know, that studies show stress exacerbates mental illness episodes. Money is a huge source of stress for many people.
