Life is Short, Eat at the Buffet

My son and I were driving home the other day and we were both starving with the dream of a local buffet we love.  We called my wife and asked her if she was up for it.  As it turned out, she was busy and not hungry so she gave us the green light to go on our own.  Since my girls are almost 2 and 4, they are beautiful but often a big hassle to bring out.  Needless to say, Dad and son were stoked to get a reprieve.  We don’t get to do much alone just he and I.

I think it’s important for us humans to treat ourselves once in a while.

You and I recreate our minds and feed our mental energy when we eat, laugh, and love with those we care about. No need to be a “glutton” but good food and company with a good friend gives health to the soul!  :)

As I ate my chocolate cake and sipped my coffee. My son told me all about the book he was reading. It’s moments like that you can’t describe the value of as a dad.  I hope you have the means to go to a buffet soon with someone special.  Life is too short to miss out on this stuff.

Not be a glutton, did you look at the amount of food on your table? Just kidding. I know that was a special moment, the kind we are all grateful for, easy going, but often revealing conversations with a child or loved one.

    Love your header photo, Damien.

@Marcia: Yeah we pigged out :) Thanks for the feedback on the header photo. I like it too but you never know what others think until you ask.

That was a good looking buffet. Wish the buffet at our Golden Corral was that clean. :)

Yes, it’s great when you can have time alone and bond with someone you care about and on top of all that…. eat different varities of food till your stomach bursts. I’m talkin about me, now. Heh heh. But don’t worry- I had duct tape.

@Kelly: LOL. A lot of people call it the “pig trough.” Even though it’s clean. Oink oink bring it on I say ;)

First, I had to laugh at the opening picture as the light behind you is perfectly placed like a hat on your head.

It is great that you got this time with your son. Being able to have those special moments with your kids individually is fantastic.

@Derek: The light-hat effect was totally unplanned! Yes, those one-on-ones with your kids are great.

Well, I was going to type a comment basically saying the same thing Derek mentioned about the light-hat :) I like buffets, but there really aren’t very many good ones around my area.

Oh, and I am also a fan of your header image, it’s very nice!

I love me some buffets. Loosen the belt a little and pig out. I think it’s good for us every once in a while.
