Got a big test coming up?  Make a ghost of it.  In other words, gather questions on the upcoming standards and diffuse your stress (and the stress of the kids) by giving them a pre-test.  If you can use a system like OARS to create it automatically with bubble answer sheets.  More and more capabilities to automate custom tests based on the standards are popping up everywhere.  Give the kids the test, then disaggregate the data (you can do it together on the board witha  show of hands for who missed each one.  Easy tip: reteach the ones most kids missed.

Pretests can make the test itself a picnic.  Try it for your next test.
