Stuff You Do as a Teacher, Grin and Bear it

Is planning what’s most important?  I have to answer a resounding, “yes.” The year has begune, we are a couple years into it and I can already see I am going to have to tweak every plan that has been given to me. This is not uncommon if you want to be successful as a teacher. You can’t ever expect the District to just carry you along and give you all the tools you need. What they give you should be seen as tools, but you are responsible for your own scores and therefore your own “curriculum” that can consist of many things. Well, it should anyway. My challenge for therest of this week is to get my schedule until Halloween made with my own pacing guide (based on the District’s) that includes California Standards dissected by level of importance on the test in May. This is just the stuff you do.
