Teachers That Meant Something

Can you remember a teacher that meant something to you? Maybe they challenged you in a new way or recognized you when many others hadn’t. I was lucky enough to have several through school and college, but I’ll never forget an extra special one who recommended me to the GATE (Gifted and Talented Education) program in 4th grade. As a result of that teacher, my life changed. She told me I had a unique ability to write and I continue to CHOOSE to believe her ;) I wrote a story about a trip to my “Riley” grandparents’ house for thanksgiving. I used a list of advanced vocabulary words like “savor” and “immense.” The fact that a 4th grader got so into it and had something personal to share caused her, Mrs. Vandemmen, to recommend me and get me in the program. I’ve always felt a bit more confident in my writing since that happened. I am sure I will return to this topic in future posts, for there are so many great teachers in my past. Meanwhile, I am sure you have a story about a teacher or several that meant something to you. Feel free to take this post as a “Tell it to me Tuesday” (TITMT) meme and write a post to spread the wealth. I’d ask that you trackback to this post if possible. I think it’s a great subject that I’d like to read much more on.  If you’d rather just leave your story in the comments here, that would be great too. Thanks, I hope to read your posts soon.

OK, I know you’ve been playing with templates, but this is THE one. I liked the last one, but when I got here this morning, this one just totally clicks with you.

I do have a teacher that meant something to me! A few of them, actually!!! Hey, maybe I could do my guest blog on this subject? would that be ok??

Thanks for the vote of confidence on the new Kubrick theme (talk about an oxymoron — this is based on the Wordpress default!) The random images make it fun, plus the code is reliable.

I would love to get a guest post from you on teacher(s) that meant something! Sounds like a great direction. Go for it! Hope you’re having the best day of your life!

Well, then that’s what I will do! Actually, I’m a little cranky today, but that’s ok. My version of “cranky” is most people’s regular personalities :)

I got tagged for a Moaning Meme and I’ve tagged you in return. I’m believing that somewhere deep down, you have an incredible rant inside of you :)

Sounds like you were in the perfect mood for a rant yourself ;) I haven’t read the post yet, but I’m excited to go write one now . . . Oh yes, I’m known to rant when pushed LOL. I’m looking forward to sometime in the near future getting your guest post. It will be the first gp here so I’ll really be accentuating it (no pressure or anything ;) he he he.
