I spent so many years in college working part time jobs to get by. I never thought I’d one day be writing on my blog about my teaching experiences of ten years. Now that I’m here though, I can tell you it is beyond what you can imagine. There is a point in education when you “level off” somewhat. You are always learning, growing, changing, but the level off is real and it feels really satisfying when you make it there.
I used to wonder in my 20’s what I would do if there were layoffs or if for some terrible reason I couldn’t teach anymore. I don’t wonder what if about that anymore. The reason is, I AM a teacher. I can’t imagine myself doing anything different. After a 4 year degree at Cal State Univ. Fullerton, a 6 year degree at the same place and a 2 year teaching credential from National University, I am “bonafide.” It is so gratifying now after 10 years to know I am in the heart of my career. I hope you will subscribe to this blog as I intend to share what worked every day. It will be funny, it will be sad. I know this because this is my job and I’ve known what it can be for the last 10 years. Join me in my journey of sharing these experiences.
