The View After Ten Years

I spent so many years in college working part time jobs to get by.  I never thought I’d one day be writing on my blog about my teaching experiences of ten years.  Now that I’m here though, I can tell you it is beyond what you can imagine.  There is a point in education when you “level off” somewhat.  You are always learning, growing, changing, but the level off is real and it feels really satisfying when you make it there.

I used to wonder in my 20’s what I would do if there were layoffs or if for some terrible reason I couldn’t teach anymore.  I don’t wonder what if about that anymore.  The reason is, I AM a teacher.  I can’t imagine myself doing anything different.  After a 4 year degree at Cal State Univ. Fullerton, a 6 year degree at the same place and a 2 year teaching credential from National University, I am “bonafide.”  It is so gratifying now after 10 years to know I am in the heart of my career.  I hope you will subscribe to this blog as I intend to share what worked every day.  It will be funny, it will be sad.  I know this because this is my job and I’ve known what it can be for the last 10 years.  Join me in my journey of sharing these experiences.  As we begin, please let me know what you think of education.  Blogs are give and take and I want to hear from you on the wonderful subject of education.
