One of the top 10 reasons for using the internet, for me, is looking stuff up when I am sick. It used to be there were home remedy books and you’d dust them off once in a while for an odd pimple on your lip or a strange pain in your side that seemed unrelated to anything you could recall doing.
Now, at the first sign of anything odd, we can look for Treatments for Symptoms online. I’ve learned a lot since the early days of the internet and some stuff I’ve learned has actually saved me the trouble of going in to see the doc. Now, I will warn you right away not to take all these sites at face value. You should always value your doctor’s advice higher than anything. But once in a while, as you are using your best judgment you will find the answers to many of your questions and maybe even the cure in your own medicine cabinet or herbal garden.
One example is a site I found that said Windex sprayed on a zit will make it go away overnight. Should you believe it? I’ll tell you I haven’t tried that one yet. If you exercise a little common sense, searching for diagnoses online can be a healthy thing and it can save you time and money as well. Nonetheless, recognize when it is time to get off the net and see a real doctor because they have more information than the web.
