Vegas was a mixture of movies, family fun and very small amount of lucrative gambling. We stayed at the Gold Coast which is a really nice smaller casino. They regularly send us “comp’d” rooms and sometimes we are able to use them. Our room was on the 8th floor and the kids marveled at the lights on the street from our high vantage point.
We went and saw “A Christmas Carol” which the whole family enjoyed. I did a video review of it and two other movies. Beyond that we enjoyed the buffet for breakfast and dinner each day. We took the kids out on the strip one day and swimming in the hotel another.
By most peoples’ standards, we are boring on vacation. By our own standards, we lived like kings. The last day of our weekend at the Gold Coast, Sarah and I decided to get $25 and play a few machines with the sole intent of losing it all! That ways, we figured, we could just enjoy the experience without a let down. When we were down to about $8 as I recall, we bet the maximum and hit a jackpot of 1,000 nickels! Incidentally that is $50. Having more than doubled our money, we cashed out and used the money for gas and snacks on the way home. A good time was hd by all.
