I don't currently use that method (highlighting/underlining), but I feel it is a very important tool to have, and one I should use more often. A lot of information presented in various posts or text is useless. Well, they have a use, to "set up" the real important information, which is what would be highlighted. The only downside to this is if you are not fully knowledgable about the topic, you might miss some important "setup info" leading into that important information.
