Two Lives of the Artist

This podcast is also a “songcast.” After the artist talk, I perform my song: “Julianna.”

I was thinking of a few questions about how artists portray life in art. I was wondering if artists all really have two lives: a “stage” or public life and a private “ordinary” one. Which one is better for their personal development to work on and are two necessary? Last, I thought about how maybe we are all just artists creating the art that is our lives?

After touching on these issues in my podcast tonight, I added a special feature: another live song recorded in my garage: “Julianna” the song I wrote inspired by my second daughter last year.

    I forgot to tell you, the opening music definitely gives it more a radio program feel. In addition I do believe every person is an artist in some way, you just have to look and find what people express, some people its cooking, others its crafting, others writing, others painting. There is an artistic expression in each of us, some just haven’t tapped into it yet.
